Squadron: VP-71 "Black Cats" - because they patrolled and executed assignments at night, too

Reconnaissance in the Atlantic Neutrality Patrol from Spring of 1940  until December 7th, 1941

Immediately ordered to Pearl Harbor for recovery and all-islands reconnaissance until April 1942

Ordered to the South Pacific War until returning Stateside in April of 1944
